I live right by the water, Long Island sound. The tides have been at the same level for the past 40 years, not even moving an inch. I know, because there is a cement dock and the water never gets higher than 2 feet from the top of the dock, you can see it, there is a line made from erosion that's been there forever and this is sea water right from the Atlantic. I would say it's been like that even longer because there is an old dock from the 1800s that's no longer used because all the wood rotten away, and it's not even covered by the water, not even close.

Sure. As you can see from the article it’s not easy to determine sea level. Land rise and subsidence have to be measured and taken into consideration and that’s just a small portion of the variables at play.
