A team of volunteers from an Israeli aid group were making their way to Texas on Tuesday, seeking to provide emergency assistance to relief efforts as a massive storm pummeled the city with severe flooding.
Seven members of the IsraAID non-governmental organization flew to Houston, where they will join three other members of the group who were already in the United States when Hurricane Harvey brought torrential downpours over the weekend, flooding homes and causing widespread damage. Harvey was later downgraded to a tropical storm.
IsraAID co-director Navonel Glick told The Times of Israel that among the group are disaster management experts, mental health experts, and engineers. They will focus on coordination of relief work and provide basic needs including stress relief activities and recreation for those impacted by the disaster.

(1) How big is Israel, compared to most other countries?
TINY
(2) How many emergency expert personnel do you think a country under constant siege like Israel can spare?
Very few.
(3) How many other countries have you heard of sending aid to Texas at all?
NONE
Case closed.
It’s ten times more than what any other country has sent.
I’m waiting to see what Mexico contributes.
Thank you, Israel.
Todah Rabah, Yisroel. Thank you, Israel.
Mexico offered aid, but we have not accepted it so far.
During Katrina, I remember the Mexican Army brought huge portable kitchens to San Antonio, and supplies to cook really awesome Mexican Food at the Evacuation Center at, IIRC, Kelly Field.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

“So.. ten people?”
I’m betting these ten will get some major stuff done. A friend of mine worked with their military once. He was astounded at the efficiency. No quotas, PC BS, etc. They were people who knew they had enemies on all sides that wanted to kill them and would use any negligence on their part to do so. They acted accordingly.
As much as Texans do for the Arabs you would think they would be giving money like crazy.
