Essentially BP is exploiting their authority to conduct checkpoints like this within 100 miles of the border. They aren’t catching Canadians. This would have been a big no no under Obama.

Within their statutory authority. If people don’t like it they can change the law. One of the reasons they are running checkpoints is the Canadian government is complaining.
