One of my boys is in Houson. First thing he did was park in the highest spot in his apartments garage.
I told him “Park high, wade low” by analogy to the conditioning saying, “Train high, sleep low.”
I’m between Houston and Louisiana and we’ve got way more water than the streets can handle. I have an uncle in Houston and haven’t been able to get hold of him, hopefully he’s gone to higher ground.. He’s no dummy. Have no fear though, Texans generally have a different mind set, more independent than most. Sometimes gets us in trouble, but usually just means we handle what needs to be handled. My friends are laughing at the wide eyed weather channel and find the local guys way more informative.
My youngest daughter is a Houston Firefighter. She spent 16 hours yesterday on a big truck rescuing people then went straight from that to a rescue boat. She is very tired but pushing on. I love that girl! I bet lots of Houstonians do too.
