After the Nikki Haley disgrace.

You don't have to tell me about ‘’them’’ Mademoiselle Salamander. I used to be a Leftie a long time ago but I didn't believe in bashing someone's head in for not seeing my point of view. I have been warning conservatives here for a long time to be aware the Left communicates through violence and resorts to it readily. I never anticipated this level of violence though. It is being orchestrated by George Soros and his ilk. Time to start fighting back and hard. This is war and in war, said a famous WW2 general ''there is no second place prize for the runner up''.

What bothers me most is that the Confederacy was made up of Democrats who took up arms in a violent secession in order to form a separate nation on the North American continent. What if they had won? Where would we be a nation? What would we look like today? We certainly would be the great United States of America.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. My flag is and will always be The Stars And Stripes . It is the flag our men and women serve under and it’s the flag that was attacked on Dec.7,1941 and Sept. 11, 2001.

Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps, ‘83 to ‘86. At Retreat, out bass drummers used to stack their drums and hang a couple of Confederate flags on them. The #1 bass drummer, ‘Cool Breeze’, was black and had no problem at all with that.

Very hard.
Pardon my melodrama, but this ‘flag/monument’ flap could be the hill we die on, if we don’t get with it, soon.
Badder times are coming.

"... I want to hear Irish, Italian, Polish, etc, jokes again. We were free to laugh at ourselves back then." Why bother with Polish Jokes?
After all, there are only three.
(All the rest of those stories are true.)

You are exactly right. My father had a Polish friend who loved to collect Polish jokes. And now we have no humor at all & instead all the silly virtue-signaling. It’s too pathetic for words.
But I enjoy seeing a bit of backlash, as in the Confederate flags having boffo sales. Too funny!

Technically, it’s also the flag that flew over slave states longer than any other.
Perspective is a bitch.
And that flag will be next, because people who do not ‘like’ the rebel flag did nothing when it was outlawed.
[...and when they came for me, there was no one left...]
My people are all from the Appalachians, back to the 1600s.
They had no slaves.
Some of them *were* white slaves.
I have no personal dog in the Yankee/Rebel fight.
However, I see where this headed and am taking my stand.
FWIW, bikers favor the rebel flag but see no “slavery” issue in it.
To us, it is a symbol of the rebellion against the powers that seek to enslave us all with onerous laws and taxes.

I’d still like to be buried under the 48 star one, that’s the America before the great changes, we were Free’er back then.

You can still mock rednecks and hillbillies.
We’re not a bunch of candy asses who need a safe space to cry in, if you do.
