Marketers have always targeted gays because of the perception that they have more disposable income.
Sure; also “pet parents” (they assume they are childless - any parent clearly sees a difference between their offspring and pets). I see bumper stickers, greeting cards (in the “loss of dog” section - seriously), endless pet food commercials...
A lot of the discretionary consumption in this country IS by childless adults; they are the driving force behind what is left of the restaurant industry in my area (outside of fast food).
