I concluded of a sudden one day during the primary season after I had been wincing repeatedly at the "gaffes" and rudities committed by Trump that it is not productive or wise to second guess that man. If you want what we elected him for then support him in whatever he does or says. His instincts in this are much better than ours. He is bringing much more than a simple Businessman's perspective to the Office. He is bringing the highly successful Real Estate promoter's instincts, those of a man who has bested the best. He has brought his judgment and instinct to a field of robber barons that have no notion of what it is that is opposing them. They will be wrong footed in almost every maneuver.

We and the whole society were rapidly going down the tubes while our leaders observed the niceties of Conservative behavior traditions. We were acting as correct and plodding seals in a bay dominated by orcas.

Perhaps it is morally better for our man to continue to play by the rules of the 1790 Republic, but that leaves our descendants, those who survive the inevitable famines, as beaten down serfs in an oligarchic feudalism.
