with all the rain falling the “brown ocean effect” may come into play..so much water on the ground
This actually allows tropical systems to maintain themselves over land in upper level conditions are right
Good point--similar to the FL Everglades--no solid land interaction to impede hurricane strength when the storm causes extensive flooding.

That’s interesting...so the rain becomes heated surface water which maintains convection. But not nearly as much energy as the ocean, of course.
