On Nickelodeon in the early 80s Billy Joel told teens that the music came first to his songs and then played “Honesty” but substituted the word Sodomy.

He’s a freak.

Has he had a hit this century?

None. He writes classical music now. He can only compose ... he gets someone else to play since he flat out admits that his left hand is dead (when it comes to playing classical music).

“On Nickelodeon ... substituted the word Sodomy.”

It’s not my intent to defend the guy since I’ll *never* pay anything dealing with him after that gold star show he put on (quite frankly, that should have been insulting to Jewish people ... there isn’t *any* comparison a sane person could make about Trump to Hitler).

Having said that, the “Honesty”, uhem, alternative lyric is a running joke that’s been around since the song was written ... I don’t think he did it intentionally if at all on Nickelodeon. I can’t find a video clip of it. Also, I doubt the gag is even used these days since it really doesn’t have many nice things to say about it.

I used to like the guy. I knew he was liberal, but he tends to keep politics out of his shows. Moreover, it never *really* entered into his music in some kind of “in your face, I’m better than you” kind of way.

However, that gold star show really torqued me off ... it plays a role of whitewashing history in a way ... someone like Trump is in no way Hitler ... however, most of the Democratic Party’s platform shares a lot with the Nazi party (Eugenics, universal health care, nationalized industries, etc).
