The use of mineral oil got its start back in the patent medicine days of our country. Along with petroleum jelly I wouldnt recommend it for use on human skin and definitely not internally.Granddad used to drink it out of the bottle for constipation. Ew. Died of cancer.

It is still used for horses to help with colicky bowels. Horses can’t vomit so when they get stopped up it is serious matter.
