The Daily Mail (British) article said that the protesters were throwing rocks and water bottles at the police. As far as I know, itisillegal to throw anything at the police. Of course the antiFA people were peaceful during the rally. Who were they going to annoy or hurt then?
So you’ve got a crowd of 100 or more walking along, and one or two throw water bottles (what the police tweeted initially) so the proper response is to fire tear gas at the whole crowd? Only if you want to instigate a riot for the TV cameras. I’m not defending the antifa, but from what I saw on the Fox Bus live reporting it looked like everything was peacefully winding down and suddenly the cops were shooting tear gas all over the place. To be clear, I’m suspicious of the police actions and statements, not in any way justifying antifa.
