Are they protesters or counter protesters or counter counter protesters?
The protesters were there to protest the rally supporters. They were counter to the original gathering crowd.
When there is a monument that people are gathering to protect (which as we’ve seen doesn’t have to have ANY ties to the Confederacy), they are called “protesters” when what they protest is sudden (didn’t bother the Left in January of 2016) anger at century old monuments.
The terms protester and counterprotester have lost all meaning because “for”/”against” falls down to perspective.
Call them militant Leftist agitators and be done with it.
