LAS VEGAS (AP) - A federal jury in Las Vegas has refused to convict four accused gunmen in a 2014 standoff with federal authorities near the Nevada ranch of anti-government figure Cliven Bundy.
In a verdict that stunned Bundy supporters, the jury on Tuesday acquitted Ricky Lovelien and Steven Stewart of all 10 charges against them.

Correct! And that was just 100 families in that southern corner of Nevada. 100s more have been systematically purged from their ranches all over the west.
Yes, and I agree with your feeling and intentions here. I just don’t believe we’re at that point right now as a nation.
Wanton unlawful destruction of property would be a more accurate term.
I remember That!
Great news. Thanks for posting.
:-)
love it...
Agreed!
“Really? If an armed police officer knocks on your door do you grab your gun and stuff it in your belt before opening the door?”
Silly and trite. If a cop knocks on my door to ask about something, they’d get a polite response. I may even decide to open the door and let them in. If they show up with a swat squad, throwing their weight around, trying to intimidate, they might expect....less cooperation, that door may not open, and yes, some forms of resistance.
All from the approach.
I am going to expose my ignorance here, but that is the most bizarre thing I have ever seen in my whole life. Who in the world did that? I will find the answer but I had to ask, and please don’t tell me that is constitutional.
Not at all. I pointed out that the relative arms level between a LEO and you wouldn't (shouldn't) prompt you to go for your guns.
I think that's quite applicable. Police ALWAYS show up armed, and in this case, they expected an armed response -- which the Bundys unfortunately provided -- and prepared accordingly.
I fear that more responses like this will only reinforce LEOs belief that it's necessary and appropriate to come in like an army.
It was a Mess to say the Least...
Feelings ain’t in the equation.
Exactly so. The federal leviathon decides it needs to stretch its limbs, and all contracts, leases, agreements---buh-bye.
And here come the SWAT Teams from the BLM, National Forest Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, et al., just to remind you who is in charge.
And BLM failed to maintain the land for grazing.
Yup.
Ban the BLM. I will gladly run an excavator to tear down their buildings.
It should never be a federal power to own land.
"The reality is that for people in the West, public lands have been seen as private property to a large extent, unlike in the East where virtually all land is considered private property. The sad reality, however, is that private property rights no longer exist. You can hold your land until the government decides to take it. Its just a much more real experience for people in the West. If you havent lived in a western state, you likely dont understand the dynamic between state rights and the oppressive power of the federal government. The federal government is not only the biggest landowner in most western states, but the most powerful player, essentially dictating what is to be done. Along with any decree is the ever-present threat of shutting down your economy if you dont go along. The feds also dont pay taxes on that land, so thats a tremendous drain as well."
All of which had stood for decades after the state had agreed to the Federal land designations. Makes it pretty clear that the state did not sign away those contracts, leases and agreements. They were and are still valid.
Sad conclusion really. How can anyone here on FR complain when Antifa or BLM pulls a gun on law-enforcement and walks without charges or conviction. End of day Bundys are thieves, and these people took arms against American law enforcement, rejected the US, etc. Let’s not see you not forget this, expect you to now be consistent and defend Antifa and BLM to take up arms again the US.
:)
Again, This is WRONG. One specific of how clueless you are on this topic.
30,000 militia. The interstate leading to the ranch that day was completely stopped because it was so full of traffic.
This was not a Bundy only action. Law makers from other states joined the Bundys.
When they rode out to confront the BLM, however, who had already stolen their cattle, they were unarmed.
They were asked by the BLM if they were armed as they rode up and they replied by yelling out that they were not.
