The Strait of Malacca is one of if not the most heavily congested sea lane in the world.
If I remember correctly, there is a live link someplace as to the current traffic in that area. It used to be a YUGE piracy issue in the area as well.
Indeed, even more reason to pay close attention to avoid such things.
Yes, those are congested waters but if they can’t transit the straights in straight lines and lanes like all the other ships that DON’T collide with other ships then they should stay clear of those waters.
I hope whoever is responsible for the incompetence that caused this tragedy wakes up with terrible night mares of guilt for the rest of his / her life.
