I am trying to understand how people get so worked into a lather of hate and violence about symbols of PAST wrongs while ignoring(and unconcerned by) symbols of PRESENT wrongs. Slave owners 1800's-bad. Slave owners now(Muslim countries=tolerated as diversity. People in chains in 1800's-abominable. People(women) draped in shrouds as property of men who will abuse and kill them-admirable as diversity.

It's easy to attack PAST wrongs, and PAST villains;they can't threaten you now. But-standing against invading barbarians who admit to wanting your submission is dangerous. Always know the end game-always.
