A group of military leaders broke with President Donald Trump and rebuked the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville over the weekend a near-historic development for U.S. civil-military relations.
Since Sunday, five U.S. service chiefs representing the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and National Guard have tweeted their denunciation of the white nationalists whose rally led to the killing of a counter-protester on Saturday. Two police officers covering the rally also died when their helicopter crashed.
The joint chiefs condemnation of racism and white supremacist groups is notable because it stands in stark contrast with Trump's statements that blamed both white-nationalist marchers and counter-protesters even though it was a Nazi sympathizer who caused all of the casualties.
It is also remarkable because American military leaders tend to stay outside of the political arena.

Oh yeah and these same guys are the ones standing up for their transies and gender reassignment surgeries as “patriots!”
Bingo. The Chiefs were just repeating Trump's statements against the racists in the march, and the media is trying to distort this FACT by suggesting that the Chiefs have split from Trump. The Chiefs and Trump both condemned the Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists. NBC is just pretending that this isn't a fact. Very insidious—trying to split the Commander in Chief from his own military.
Did they “denounce” antifa, the Communist Party USA and BLM also or were they too cowardly to do that?
I agree.
Obama’s yes men need replacing.
Why hasn’t Schumer/Pelosi/DNC denounced the defacement of Lincoln Memorial by nutty lefties?
This is like five days too late, right?
Ratchet boy with blue backpack and stripes on sleeves is in front of arrow guy,
However, the dude in the white helmet will be ID'ed.
WTF, over. I thought the military is supposed to stay out of politics? This is NOT good and grossly misinformed.
FIRE THEM ALL.
I am guessing about 4 years if he doesn't get his shit together regarding personnel selection, media communications and and dealing with higher level mountebanks.
What about the rule of law?
You know free speech? How about the right to assemble?
The denouncement of racism isn’t a disagreement.
The traitors are surfacing.
These are perfumed princes who achieved their positions by brown nosing, and either ignore the fact that the Deep State was involved with both “sides”, or they are complicit with the Deep State.
They each committed violations of Article 88. Generals under Clinton and Obama have been run off under that same article of UCMJ for just private comments.
When in the military, everyone is under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Let me give you an example of military Justice:
If a fight breaks out and two military members are involved both go to Courts Martial or Mast or a Hearing. Both are judged. One of the party may be judged more severely, in that he or she might have started the altercation but both are charged with (for example) Conduct Unbecoming or other such articles of the UCMJ. That is Military Justice. It is not a case of - this person started it and I finished it, or I intervened etc... it is a matter in which both parties were involved when neither party should have been involved. The decision to charge both (or all) parties involved is quite simply for the sake of good order and discipline. And all concerned are dealt with appropriately. Leadership evaluations may even carry over to supervisors and department heads, in nipping any problems in at the bud, thereby ending it as expeditiously as possible and refocusing on the mission at hand (readiness included).
Exactly. Next men up.
Every time I see that photo I wonder why that pretty orange zinnia is hitting that senior citizen in his privates.
