North Dakota state Sen. Tom Campbell has decided to challenge Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp for her Senate seat, the state lawmaker confirmed Wednesday. Campbell said he made his decision after months of consideration and traveling the state.
I just want to basically go to Washington and fight just like my dad did so my grandkids and kids can have the American Dream too, Campbell said in a brief phone interview. He said his father was a pilot in World War II. Heitkamp, who was first elected in 2012, is one of the most vulnerable Senate Democrats this cycle. President Donald Trump won her state by nearly roughly 36 points. Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales rates her race a Toss-Up.

I render no opinion til DJ has weighed in.
BTW, note the LOW D turnout in AL last night???
Need to try to get about 60 Republicans in the Senate to offset the RINOs such as McCain and Collins (R-ME).
Is he THE ONE?
Heitkamp isn't terribly popular with Leftists here in ND as she has smartly voted in favor of gun rights and oil production. She only won by about 3,000 votes in 2012 and knows she has to walk a fine line.
Rep. Cramer, I believe, would likely beat her as he is quite popular and is a solid conservative. Not so sure about Campbell.
I don’t know who this guy is, so I can’t say. Heitkamp is in a tough spot given the leanings of the state, but that hasn’t stopped Democrats from dominating the Senate races for decades. The last Republican to win this seat was the “colorful” Wild Bill Langer in 1958.
Now-Congressman Kevin Cramer should’ve been Heitkamp’s opponent in 2012 instead of weak freshman Rep. Rick Berg. Cramer should run in ‘18, but he hasn’t made it official yet.
Democrats have been winning the Senate seats in ND for years because they bring home the handouts for the farmers plus the old people think democrats are the same as they were 50 years ago.
Sorry, but Trump’s endorsements should be ignored after he has endorsed McCain, Ryan and now Strange.
It’s not enough to just elect people wearing R jerseys when they work against the citizens and the rule of law.
Corker, Hatch, Heller and Flake should be removed for voting for amnesty before they are successful.
Trump did the right thing with Strange. He voted for repeal of Obamacare, his one big vote.
No, you cannot complain that he “really didn’t mean it.” I support people who vote the right way. Mike Turner in Dayton did that for years. I never trusted him, but he always was the right vote.
Don’t know why you’re worked up. Moore will win. Trump will now have a guy who both thinks AND votes the right way.
What does he have hidden in his closet? Because it’s going to come out.
