What Trump said is true. I think I can defend his words outside the cult, but tactically, I agree, in the context of what happened, he should have let it go. What if the Scalise shooter was in a group, and the rest of the group did nothing. Just after the shooting might not be the best time for a politician to defend the others, even though they did nothing wrong. Constantly defending means we can't make progress.
Still, I don't think this is the end of the world. N Korea backed down. So far. That's good news I think.
