You know the old expression Not in my name? It would be so easy so easy for President Trump to say to the neo-Nazis and the neo-Confederates and the neo-Klansmen, Not in my name. He is good with words, as he tells us. He can find a way of saying that. While he was at it, he could say, Take off my hat. (The red MAGA hat.) Just wear your hoods and whatnot.
He could say that. Does he want to?
And if the alt-Right gets associated with the Republican party and conservatism, it will not be the fault of the media and the Left. It will be the fault of those on the right who played footsie with the alties and who winked and nodded.

Who cares what the nevertrumper nro idiots think? Fake conservatives.
NR is full of loonies. Everyone knows they are elitist racists. They just pretend they aren’t racist.
Why give NRO the clicks?
Nordlinger is a NeverTrumper and a globalist.
Just ignore them and let them continue their slide into obscurity.
When the billionaire donor sugar daddies who are propping them up realize that NRO no longer has the influence it once had, they will find other places to spend their money.
They call it ALTERNATIVE right because there’s such a wide perception that the GOP and it’s toady media are JUST NOT DOING THE JOB.
I’m sorry to say I do lump the National Review into that mix, too.
They’re not at all what they used to be, not by a couple miles.
176 words. Just a comment, and barely that. Nowhere near a “meltdown.”
Our CINC up 6 in approval today has them shocked back to reality and trashing around like a drowning man.
“Meltdown” is an apt description. Unfortunately, most of the media, even many Trump-leaners, are in meltdown mode, rabidly judgmental in assessing Trump’s uncommonly accurate and un-PC comments.
One of the best defenders of DJT I saw on TV today was Laura Ingraham on Special Report, but even she seemed to feel the need to qualify her comments.
Alt-right, white nationalists, white supremacists, far right...
never heard these terms BEFORE President Trump was elected...
I think they were all invented by the liberal leftists to attempt to slander every conservative in the country...
Here's 32 words from David French: "Lets be very clear about what just happened at Donald Trumps press conference. He gave the alt-right its greatest national media moment ever. He even called some of them very fine people. Read more at: http://www.nationalreview.com/corner
Sorry, Nerdlinger, Trump called out all of the anti-American fascists not just the group you don’t belong to.
Well, sometimes you go looking for your old friends. I couldn’t find Sobran, and Chambers isn’t around anymore either.
Cuck has really a charitable term for these slimeballs. We watched 8 years of race riots under Obama. Zero outrage from Nordlinger and the rest of his pseudo-intellectual fake conservative hacks at Obama’s repeated, non-condemnation of BLM and other radicalized leftist groups.
Trump condemns all the miscreants in Charlottesville, and these GOPe liberal media virtue-signaling cucks jump on the left’s bandwagon because his complete condemnation included the communist attack group that showed up attacking people with baseball bats? Simply amazing.
They are so afraid of their betters in the MSM you can smell their fear. And their twitter accts read like teenage prattle.
Useless cowards.
btw, a few of the sites i refuse to click through to: NRO, WaPo, NYT, redstate, and weeklystandard ...
This article/opinion piece is a great example of why Est. Republicans will always lose. First, he accepts the Lefts argument, in full. Then he tries to work within their reality.
It’s a fail.
No, you’re correct to do so. Amazing how they ALL became infected with anti-Trump fever. Even sensible people like Geraghty, just went loony, and then evil.
Because at this point, given the opposition-—if you’re against Trump, you’re evil.
Truer words were never said.
It's the truth, LS.
The Enemy is trying to foment a civil war. They're trying force a choice between the corrupt, lying PC Swamp—the Enemy of the People—and President Trump and the universally decent, loving, peaceable working class conservatives and independents who stand with him.
I know where I stand.
Let the faint at heart begone. By default, they have joined the Enemy. Their timidity—their lukewarm support—their "sunshine" patriotism—are not needed—indeed, they're profoundly destructive to the Revolution.
I'm all in. 100%. I pledge my Life, my Fortune, my Sacred Honor. Nothing else matters.
I will support a President who I know is not a racist or bigot or hater. I will be counted among the "deplorables"—100% of them—who I also know are not racists, bigots, or haters.
I'm ready to fight a civil war to destroy an unhinged, corrupt, utterly evil Enemy—a malevolent, deceitful monster—and I'll be happy to destroy—on the field of battle—the real racists, Antifa fascists, White Supremacists, Black Supremacists, Latino Supremacists, neo-Nazis, anti-Semites, and hateful bigots who fill the ranks of the Enemy along the way.
I don't know if I'm prepared or not—but I'm damn sure ready...
Trump condemned all sides, but the real bone was that he said “there were very fine people” there.
If that was wrong to say, the implication is clear: even though a demonstration of this sort is legally permissible, it is morally wrong. Association with anyone of “this group” is de facto a wrong of the highest order, even under pretense of protest against taking down a statue. Is it not the crime of the century? The fact that people like those at NRO hold this view shows what dire straits we are in.
Guilty by association.
