He is in real trouble now.
And some of those CEO's showed how stupid they are, or how important being politically correct is to them instead of growing the value of their companies. The Merck guy basically had a bit of a safe harbor for his company since he was on the manufacturing board. Once he jumped ship to support leftist talking points he cleared the way for Trump, and many others to save Americans hundreds of millions of dollars in health care expenses at the expense of Merck and its shareholders.
No reason at all that health care reform can't require any company selling FDA approved drugs in the USA to sell them here at the lowest price it offers them for sale at anywhere in the world. That change would immediately save US citizens hundreds of millions of dollars since drug companies like Merck would be unable to charge higher prices to Americans than they do overseas. Merck, and other pharma companies would have to increase prices elsewhere, or accept lower operating revenue.
