The President's condemning violence and bigotry on all sides was exactly right. Well done.
BTW, this Huffpo/Pro-publica article is everything you'd expect... white supremacist this, neo-nazi that. .. click if you want.
According to the 4chan kids they were forced to leave the park by the police who pushed them right into the waiting Antifa Crowd.
The police chief was quite emphatic that NOBODY was injured by law enforcement - in a case where some people clearly needed to be injured by law enforcement.
When you see the leftists moving against the Nazi-types, it is very clear who is starting the physical confrontation. They should have been arrested immediately, even if it meant bashing their widdle heads.
You got that right. I didn't read any of the articles, but the titles told me all I wanted to know.
Only an observation, but if you’ve ever been in Charlottsville...it’s kinda like Austin, Texas. The city survives only because of the University of Virginia campus and the pay-scale of the professors/elite of the school. Most everyone associated with the city just keeps their silence about the environment. The cops in this case? No reason to get injured or trigger any confrontation on their own....just let the whole thing play out.
The Antifa/BLM folks from around the Campus are asking for trouble if the fall semester is filled up with weekend run-ins with non-Antifa/BLM members. I’m not sure where the Governor can get the law enforcement to settle this unless he calls the National Guard into this.
For those of us over fifty and can remember Kent State...I think we are edging closer every month to a complete replay of Kent State somewhere in the nation.
Did the same thing at one of the California clashes. Took away the Trump supporter’s stuff they brought for protection, funneled them into an area, and then stood down and let Antifa do whatever they wanted.
From everything I’ve seen, the actual alt right group doesn’t have a history of violence, but antifa does. Yet McAulliffe was only worried about the alt right.
This is a lot like the worry about “violent Trump supporters” and is exactly the kind of thing the alt right complains about.
The alt right are white nationalists but they are not white supremacists. I don’t see them seeking to suppress groups nor seeking greater than equal rights, like all the non-white race-based groups in the country are looking for.
The government’s and SPLC’s “concern” over this group is starting to looking like the mentality that led to Ruby Ridge.
Vehemently disagree.
The next "Kent State" is a militarized urban police force gunning down a crowd of "White Nationalists."
It is apparent that Leftist-run urban police forces are sworn to "protect and defend" Leftists.
WHAT FRIGGIN’ HYPOCRITES! If the police had been more forceful then they would have been abridging free speech rights. Show restraint, and they “allowed it to get out of hand.”
They need to STFU.
I don’t think I can remember white people rioting......
A mob is just the perfect smokescreen for mentally ill and evil people to commit violence. They are to be avoided by responsible, thinking people, who would like to remain responsible and thinking.
“leftists moving against the Nazi-types...”
??? That’s redundant.
My bad; “Bolsheviks moving against Nazis”.
Thank God I won’t be around when it will be against the law to be white and Christian. I feel for those who will and it won’t be long.
These anti American politicians are going to be the cause of the rise of the KKK. Eventually people just get fed up with being called racists and turn to whomever will defend them.
I agree.
Too late; you are already around when it is legal (and required) to openly discriminate against white men. You’re right; these young white men have turned to the only people even discussing their issues.
The Nazis came to power (through elections) when they would do the dirty work to save Germany from a communist revolution. When the communists would march/demonstrate/riot, the police would stand by and truckloads of Nazis (brownshirts) would show up and go toe-to-toe with the Reds. The middle and upper classes saw them as the only ones who would protect private property and restore law & order.
NAZIs were a political party.
Who are the NeoNAZIs running in the primaries?
I can point out who the damned Commies are running and endorsing.
Translation: The cops didn't hurt anyone - they left the bad ones alone and pushed the good ones into an area where they were fed into a wood chipper, but the cops weren't the ones running that wood chipper.
>>I dont think I can remember white people rioting......
1968 DNC Convention, a planned violent action
1969, the Days of Rage by the SDS and Weather Underground (splinter from the Communist affiliated SDS). Protest of the trial of the conspirators behind the Chicago riot of 68
