Recent satellite photos suggest North Korea could be preparing for fresh submarine-based ballistic missile tests, an expert on its military has said.

Joseph Bermudez, a specialist in North Korean defence and intelligence affairs, posted photographs on the 38 North blog of the US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University, which he said could show preparations for a test of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
Recent commercial satellite imagery reveals several developments suggesting that North Korea may be accelerating the development of the sea-based leg of its nuclear forces, he said.

It would not surprise me if the US Navy was already well aware of this. It would also not surprise me if either a Los Angeles-class or Virginia-class boat were doing their impression of a hole in the water somewhere nearby...and waiting.

I am guessing the two classes you mention are attack class subs? THe boomers are already in place a long time ago.

The jihad media never discuss ideology—except Trump’s. (He’s a racist.)
Does the nork ideology aim at world domination?

The US has been doing this for about fifty years or so, and has all the bugs worked out. Fat Kim is in for a big surprise.

L.A. is a fast attack. Virginia is considered more “multi mission”. Of course the policy of the Silent Service is to divulge the exact purpose and capabilities of each of our subs accurately to our loyal and patriotic media.

I would suggest to the Navy that they do some pre-emotive deep sea fishing. 😁

Just because it will tickle his puerile little self.

It’s a great opportunity for us to conduct an ASROC test. It’s a win-win situation!!

My thoughts too - should be very doable for one of our own.
Big question would be how easy to hide effectively again and not lose strategic "where the hell is it" advantages.
