I was born and bred in NYC and grew up knowing all of these names and many more Dutch ones; street names, expressways, parks, and then there's also RPI, in upstate N.Y.! Also had factual history in school, NYC history began in the third grad and continued in fifth and eighth. Add to that, knowing kids and adults with Dutch last names, who were descendants of these old families.

It's time to let this go, but felt that I owed you a reply to your last post.

Some are "hard" sounding; others aren't so your point has been shattered.
