Throughout history the only way to truly defeat various evil “isms” is through some form of warfare. I never stated the methods, so knock it off with the silly holier than thou reference to the Bolsheviks.
And yet sometimes it doesn’t even look like what we stereotype it to be.
The bible is holier than thou art. It is also holier than I am. That is the only way it can be any use to any of us.
Consider the Gideon victory. A little band conquered a lot, because of the psychological aspect of the battle.
And now we have the strange martyrdom victories of biblical Christianity (not modern lazy church churchianity). The conqueror dies; not the conquered. But God then claims the conquered.
Now THAT is history. God’s style, not your style.
So I press on you once more the question: will we be able to stop exalting the sword at the conclusion of the kind of victory you have in mind?
Or will it be some rough armed detente?
If the latter, then you have not subjected your mind to the Lord.
