Jeff Flake is one of the few elected Republicans to publicly break from Donald Trump, denouncing Trump-style populism in his new book and refusing to endorse Trump during the presidential election.
Now, Trump-supporting billionaire Robert Mercer is donating $300,000 to a super PAC backing Kelli Ward, one of Flake's Republican primary challengers, Politico's Alex Isenstadt reports. Why it matters: Polls show that Flake is deeply unpopular in Arizona, and Republican primary voters are still overwhelmingly supportive of Trump. The precarious situation Flake finds himself in shows the risks other Republicans will be taking if they challenge Trump.
Hope you’re right. But Flake has a little advantage from Dem crossovers (independents). I only say this, because that is how McCain has always been able to beat a conservative challenger in the primaries.
Nice, however, if spending more money was the answer, we’d have president Hillary.
ditto
I agree. We need to make donations to anybody who runs against Flake. I liked Kelli Ward, who in every way is superior to McCain. But no, the stupid people of Arizona when gaga for McCain.
Brass knuckles and rubber hose time for the true believers. The double crossers should not only lose their jobs, but lose them spectacularly, with a huge crater to remind other RINOs of their folly.
I think during the next vote on Obamacare repeal, Trump will have a majority in the Senate.
Flake is a flake. Pillar that bastard on his own petard. He makes me puke!!
If you donate to Jeff Flake, you are not “pro Trump”. You are anti Trump.
Flake is getting soggy and will soon taste like crap, as bad cereal always does.
Where did this POS come from? OK, Arizona. They’ve got McCain, like a permanent jock rash, and Comrade Krysta Sinema (D-AZ), plus a few sheriffs who love illegal aliens more than they like obeying and enforcing the law.
Maybe they’ve been out in the sun for too long. Hope the voters send them to a nice politicians’ rest home in the desert somewhere.
I’m in.
Fk that flake...he’s a fake and I disagree with Newt on this.
