Two of the Senators who singlehandedly derailed the skinny repeal of Obamacare were awarded a sit down interview with the admiring Dana Bash Friday on CNN.

Good Plan! Our Congressman (when home) never misses meeting with our Conservative Book Club — has done so for more than 20 years when he was just a first year Assemblyman in the State Legislature. He always fills us in on the behind the scenes jockeying and movements of wherever he’s serving.
Last week he told us that one of the worst mistakes (in his opinion) Ryan made is that he “gave up” much of his power to appoint and punish members of Congress. He did this in response to the body’s feeling that John Boehner had too much power. The result is that Ryan cannot discipline members when necessary. The Tuesday group — numbering from 20-30 RINO members from NY, NJ, FL, CA and 2 from MI — that is very liberal and opposes the GOP agenda frequently, thus impeding legislation and causing most conservative amendments to fail. About 2 weeks ago, Congress was considering 8 amendments that should have passed. 6 of the 8 failed when the Tuesday Group voted with the Democrats.
Interesting insight. Frustrating.
One wonders if McConnell isn’t doing all that he could in the Senate? Murkowski, Collins, and McCain should SHARE that broom closet in the basement.
Those creeps vote with the Dems anyway.
Murkowski did not lose her primary in 2016, and she won a three way race in the general.
Ummm—They pretty much vote with the Dems already.
Murder Incorporated (aka Planned Parenthood) is now running commercials thanking Lisa Murkowski for her sellout vote. She didn’t get my vote in 2010 or 2016 and she won’t get it in 2022 or anytime thereafter.
Politicians, especially women, who sell their soul supporting murder of other humans for political power and fortune is pure evil. This is now the norm in America where aspects of our society and ruling class mimic Nazi and Soviet doctrine.
They voted for Gorsuch.
This planned parenthood funding depravity should be a voluntary thing on our tax returns, like the “Do you wish to contribute $3 to the presidential campaign fund?”
Then all the demon possessed baby killers can check the little box and know they’ve done their duty for Satan.
Why is Alaska growing bluer? It would seem the state would not draw liberal elitists, welfare bums, or Hispanic illegals due to the harsh climate and high cost of living.
From the interview at the article: Collins said “The issue of family planning services, cancer screenings, and women care probably does resonate with us more than it does with our male colleagues, and to me it was so unfair to single out one Medicaid provider and say to women in particular, You can’t choose which health care provider you want to go to,’ Collins explained.”
Maybe 2% of a few PP facilities actually perform cancer screenings. All facilities in the PP system support, and/or perform abortions. Collins knows this, therefore she is deliberately spewing BS for some reason.
Talkeetna, Seward, Anchorage were quite liberal when I was there last summer.
Anyone have a really good projectile vomiting graphic?
States have no power to recall U.S. Senators.
Sad that these creeps will damage the nation to salve theirsorey egos.
On a lighter note, I wonder how two people did something singlehandedly.
One wonders why the so-called “skinny bill” included a section that would have de-funded Planned Parenthood.
Clearly, that provision would keep any Democrat from voting for the “skinny bill”, EVEN Democrats whose districts are suffering a loss of ObamaCare “coverage”. And NOW we know that Murkowski and Collins also wanted to keep funding Planned Parenthood. So one wonders why the GOP bill-writers and GOP “whips” didn’t know that and postpone the de-funding. Did the “stupid party” strike again?
Clearly, keeping that section in the “skinny bill” was a fatal flaw.
Instead, the attempt to sneak “de-funding PP” into a “reconciliation bill” has:
NOT “de-funded” Planned Parenthood (ooops!)and
DID embarrass everyone who wanted to start dismantling ObamaCare using the “skinny bill” as a small but necessary first step to full repeal.
Let’s hope the GOP does a better job of crafting bills in the future.
As a first rule for bill-writing, “Keep It Simple, S...”. We all know now that most so-called “omnibus” or “comprehensive” bills are used to confer “special” favors and “special” payoffs. IMHO, every bill should be a “skinny bill”.
Reality is such a disappointment sometimes.
The leftists knew their idiot wouldn’t have a chance to win, so they banded together and voted for Murkowski. She owes them, and she sucks. I can’t find a normal human up here who actually supports her.
These 2 women are sick , pathetic ghouls who love murdering children in the womb. What great “women”.
