Iowa Democrats pulled off an impressive and important victory in a Southeast Iowa special election this evening, boosting the partys hopes that 2018 could be a bounce-back year. Democratic veterinarian Phil Miller of Fairfield comfortably defeated Republican farmer Travis Harris of Davis County, 4,021 to 3,324 (about 55% to 45%), thanks largely to a massive victory in his hometown of Jefferson County. That means Democrats will hold on to a key rural swing district that Donald Trump won in November by 22 points....
Miller was about as ideal of a candidate as you could hope for in this race: a well-known community leader who locals trusted from his work as a large and small-animal veterinarian. But Republicans ran an intensely negative campaign on TV, attacking Miller for his vote on the Fairfield School Board to keep a policy on transgender bathrooms in place....

Special election for what office, exactly? Dog catcher?
I must have missed the countdown clock on CNN for this election.
Read the article.

Wow a democrat seat stayed democrat, that is big news LOL
CNN is sad that THEY missed their countdown clock, on this one. Too busy setting up their ‘bunker’, in HI.

Replaces another Dhimmicrat? Well hells belles......what are they talking about. A waste of bandwidth from whatever digital fish wrapper posted this.

I’m on information overload. I don’t read every article in its entirity that comes by my desk unless the writing is superlative. That is rare.
It is interesting that early voters made a huge difference—1886 Democrat, 376 Republican, which is more than the overall vote differential. I wonder if there were any shenanigans involved here, although the article claimed that there was a strengthened voter ID law in place.
Just [expletive deleted] tell us. Iowa House it turns out. You could have answered the question in fewer characters than being smarmy.
Yep, those democrats are on the rise.....
As a writer of articles for a junior high newspaper I learned you gotta get the 5 Ws in the first sentence or two.
So the filthy rats hung on to a seat, and now declare Trump is finished because they barely one a seat they already controlled.
If anything the 22 points tells me a lot of Democrats crossed over for President Trump.
Perhaps the Trump voters had something better to do like going fishing instead of wasting time on this nothing-burger election.
