Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski has said his country is welcoming migrants from its poor and conflict-stricken European neighbours, but will resist the European Union’s efforts to impose a compulsory quota of migrants from North Africa and the Middle East.
“Poland is open for migration. And last year, for instance, we issued 1,267,000 visas for Ukrainians. Half of these visas were work permits,” Waszczykowski told Russian media in a bruising interview reproduced by the Daily Express.
“We are also open for migration not only from Ukraine but also from Belarus and other countries, [but] we do not want to participate in the mandatory process of relocation of migrants coming from the Middle East and Africa.
“We do not want to implement the decision of the European Union taken in September of 2015.”

There are several issues in this EU-scheme to force Poland to accept migrants. First, if you went and listed the benefit package within each EU country...99-percent of migrants would refuse to go into twenty of the twenty-eight EU countries, because you really don’t get much financial support (Poland is a place where you need to have a job offer in your hand, and expect very little help).
Second, you need to review unemployment rates around Europe, because it’s pure stupidity to send migrants into countries like Italy (11-percent unemployment), Spain (17-percent unemployment), or Greece (21-percent unemployment). For Czech or Germany...it’s less than 4-percent and might make some sense, but only for people with real skills.
Third and most importantly...the EU has not done any health check-out of any of these people that sit in Italy and await re-distribution. Nor have their ID with their original country been confirmed. Nor can anyone say if they have a crime record or not.
If you were looking for some idiot to destroy stability within the core of the EU...this game of re-distribution and forcing members to comply, probably amounts to a five-star effort.
