Faith Goldy reports, it's been roughly seven months since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau welcomed the world to claim refugee status in Canada and now more people than ever are heeding his call. Watch as Faith shares a bombshell report of what she's witnessing at the Canada-U.S. border in Quebec.
What a hot mess we have.
There's a spot on the Vermont/Quebec border (Derby Line,Vermont) that I've visited a couple of times on my way to Montreal. It's a town from which a person can *easily* cross into Canada...that is,step onto Canadian soil. The town is well known...it's even got an entry in wikipedia.
On one of my visits I stood right on the border (about a foot inside US territory) and called out to an RCMP officer I saw about 50 feet away.I asked him a couple of questions about the RCMP and he answered them in a very friendly manner. If I wanted to I could have very easily stepped onto Canadian soil and,of course, would have been arrested by him for illegally entering the country.
On a 3,000 mile border....much of it in remote wilderness...it's gotta be easy to sneak across in either direction.
Last December and January, right before Trumps inauguration, there were herds of Hatians in Tijuana waiting to get into the USA. I bet those are the same people at the trying to get into Canada because Trump is not giving them refugee status.
Wow...she is fantastic. Why hasn’t the Canadian Human Rights Commission imprisoned her yet?
I wish we had such a vigorous, outspoken pro-border person in the U.S.
MORE WINNING!
I found her to be very talented, and knowledgeable.
We of course respect our neighbors’ sovereignty and immigration laws in the way a *certain* neighbor does not.
The deal as I understand it is that the US and Canada have signed a treaty stating that both recognize that neither politically oppress people, and that refugee claims from either country are invalid.
The upshot of that is apparently if you drive up to a border post and announce that you are a refugee they have to refuse you entry. So the only way to claim refugee status is to enter illegally. Then it becomes a gray area because they can’t prove that you entered illegally from the United States.
those fake eyelashes are ridiculous.
But Canada's current policy is,it would appear, that if you succeed in entering Canada by sneaking in illegally (that is,not at an official crossing point) you can remain in the country at least temporarily and *possibly* be allowed to lodge an official refugee application in Canada.
I'm not sure what you mean by "a certain neighbor" but I think that comment is unwarranted...at least from a legal standpoint.
Of course Trudeau wants to embarrass and belittle Trump.Just about every leader of a Western nation wants to do that now.But no leader has a legal obligation to support a particular US President...although failing to do so can certainly be considered "unhelpful".

Plenty of remote sensors near the border in my neck of the woods (PNW). These are predominately placed along natural pathways, gaps between ridges, valleys and along streams. where an ordinary hiker would be likely to traverse. Could a sophisticated navigator evade all that? Yes, but not easy for the typical migrant.
Yup,I'm not surprised. In fact I once got talking to a US Border Patrol guy in the Vermont town I mentioned (they're always patrolling that area) and he told me that both the US and Canada have all sorts of cameras and sensors in the area.
But that's not an issue for these refugees. They *want* to be caught by Canadian cops so all they have to do is set foot on Canadian soil. The sensors you mention would only be of concern to those who wanted to *avoid* capture by officials of the country that they've illegally entered.
They’ll go where the free Stuff is best so we need to turn off the free Stuff
Her message is so strong, so on-point, and so refreshing I couldn’t care less about her appearance. She is a rarity — plain spoken, pro-country, articulate, and compelling.
