Not in Mississippi, except for federal employees. And ditto for most other Southern states.

Moreover, even though federal employees can unionize, the federal unions are not allowed collective bargaining privileges. So their power and influence is nothing like the situation with those state and local governments that allow unionized collective bargaining for their employees.

There’s a reason why many automotive plants are moving to the south. A lot of it is taxation, but another is the workers’ attitude. They’re not interested in being unionized and having the unions raise their salaries beyond the price the company can pay. And then everybody goes bankrupt.
