WASHINGTON (AP) The betting was that law-and-order Attorney General Jeff Sessions would come out against the legalized marijuana industry with guns blazing. But the task force Sessions assembled to find the best legal strategy is giving him no ammunition, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.
The Task Force on Crime Reduction and Public Safety, a group of prosecutors and federal law enforcement officials, has come up with no new policy recommendations to advance the attorney generals aggressively anti-marijuana views. The groups report largely reiterates the current Justice Department policy on marijuana.

Do you understand the concept of the 10th Amendment? If not, then read up on it and it will explain everything.
You may also wish to read up on the New Deal Commerce Clause that FDR and LBJ (mis)used so effectively.
It’s legal in CO and a few other states.
Last I looked there was no prohibition of MJ in the Constitution.
So go California and Colorado. Toke away...and get brainless.
And kiss your life buh-bye.
Yeah, give them the Saudi sentence, firing squad!
Take a deep breath and relax.
Agree 100% and could possibly lead to President Trump’s downfall!
No, just the same punishments we have for alcohol intoxication.
CC
This Task Force alone is too much time and money spent on marijuana by DOJ.
If Jeff Sessions thinks DOJ has time and money to spend on this effort, he must be immediately removed and replaced.
As it would be prima facie proof that you don’t have to smoke pot to be stupid.
And this is surely stupid.
‘Agree 100% and could possibly lead to President Trumps downfall!’
That’s not too farfetched. Mueller has an unlimited budget and unlimited scope. I read that he’s now investigating the tenants in Trump Tower. Meanwhile the actual criminals are waltzing around accessing top secret information and negotiating lucrative book deals.
Smh.
It’s not just DC that thinks this is a bad idea.
It’s at least 60% of American citizens. Another 20% would not want to see Federal enforcement.
He's right!
My faith (in Sessions) has taken quite a beating. I’d like few things more than to start believing in him again. So far, he’s not helping.
I assume by “the illegal weed industry” you’re talking about something other than the subject of this task force.
This ain't rocket science Jeff.
Thanks for the ping.
Sessions has been a big disappointment to me as AG. The Russia recusal has allowed the Mueller witch hunt to come into existence.
If states want to legalize cannabis then they should. The federal gov’t should follow the Constitution (fat chance lol) & leave the states alone regarding LEGAL production/use of cannabis, IMO.
To me (I am neither pro nor con on the marijuana issue),
the debate is not about the marijuana, but it is about
the ability of certain States to ignore federal law.
If their decisions stand up, I hope that Georgia
will ignore federal law on counterfeiting money.
I am gonna be rich!
A lot of votes for President Trump were from independents. Not people who are necessarily ‘Republican’, or ‘Conservative’ but simply not willing to commit national suicide.
This is the perfect example of a State’s Rights issue if ever there was one. There is no constitutional justification for the prohibition of marijuana.
If you don’t like it, don’t smoke it. as with booze, if someone drives impaired, nail ‘em to the wall, but it’s a loser with a huge percentage of voting citizens.
What do you think funds these criminal sanctuary cities MAYORS..? Drug cartels within and outside our country plus the dollars our Congress has directed to and for criminal aliens. They are calling it ‘charities’... paid for by US.
Face it, no matter what the drug is, there will always be people that can handle it well and those who cannot and never will. This is either is due to either biological susceptibility, upbringing, or both.
The “war on drugs” is nothing but a “war on Americans” and I am sick of it.
