1) The mother desperately wanted a girl, and was devastated when her baby was a boy.
2) The first time her little boy did a stereotypically female activity—we don’t know what—the mother was delighted and took that as a sign that her son was *destined* to be a girl, and that a horrible accident of birth caused him to have male genitalia.
3) From that day forward, she treated her son as if he were a daughter, and in a supreme exercise of confirmation bias, refused to acknowledge any male characteristics and behavior.
Munchausen by proxy, indeed. The kid needs to be removed from that dysfunctional family, ASAP. He is being destroyed by a man-hating mother who subconsciously has been punishing him since birth for the “sin” of not being female.
