GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — 33 people were arrested in a recent four-day operation in West Michigan by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
In a press release put out early Friday, the agency says the operation was meant to target “criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and immigration violators.” They say that among the 33 taken into custody, 24 of them had prior criminal convictions.
The operation took place this week across West Michigan.
The arrests span individuals from four different countries: Mexico (22 arrested), Guatemala (7 arrested), El Salvador (3 arrested) and Liberia.
Rebecca Adduci, the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations director in Detroit, said in the release, “Operations like this one demonstrate ICE’s continued focus on the arrest of dangerous criminal aliens as well as those who enter the United States illegally.”
ICE provided brief backgrounds on three of the individuals arrested during the operation:
A 37-year-old Liberian man with a conviction for the offense of criminal sexual conduct, 3rd Degree. He was ordered removed from the United States in 2011, and will remain in ICE custody pending removal of the United States.
A 22-year-old Mexican woman with convictions for operating without a license, two counts of child neglect, and child abuse, 4th degree. She will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of her removal proceedings.
A 20-year-old Salvadoran man with convictions for destruction of property, larceny, and false identity to law enforcement. He will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his removal proceedings.

This is what angers me! Why is there any need for a “removal proceeding?” This suggests that after all that they’ve done while in our country, they “get some sort of “legal proceeding” that could lead to their remaining in our country. This is simply another needless legal expense foisted off on the taxpayers. If you are found to be in Mexico “illegally,” my guess is you are lucky if they let you leave under your own steam.

Okay, so four days and how many agents for just 33 people?! They can go into any Walmart and find that many in 5 minutes. This is incompetence. At this rate, we do not eliminate the presence of illegal aliens except by they ultimate death of old age. To eliminate 30-60 million illegal aliens over eight years of Trump as president will require between 10,000 and just 20,000 PER DAY. ICE needs to seriously step up its game.
