More BS government stats based on phone calls. I’m not saying unemployment isnt down, I’m just saying why don’t we go to real numbers?

“I’m just saying why don’t we go to real numbers?”

I suppose the housecleaning hasn’t occurred over at BLS.

Until then, facts just get in the way.

Generally I agree with your statement.

For example “unemployment rate was little changed at 4.3 percent”.

They use the U-3 calculations.

While this number has a very well defined definition the number is a very inaccurate estimator of real unemployment.

“The labor force participation rate, at 62.9 percent, changed little in July and has shown little movement on net over the past year.”

Participation rate is a better estimator, but it is a reverse ratio and a bit more difficult to understand.

Shadowstats is the best. It will graph the U-3, U-6, and then the same unemployment rate calculation used during the Great Depression.

Using the same unemployment rate calculation used during the Great Depression and comparing to today, shows that Obama has put us into a Greater Depression. The history books will show this.

Today’s #FAKENEWS perpetrated by the #FAKEAMERICANS msm will not let out to the general masses just how bad Obamas Greater Depression really has been.

You’re right; the best real indication of low unemployment is rising wages as companies compete for talent - and with the exception of a few fields, that isn’t happening. To his credit, I believe Trump’s comments on immigration are to deal with this specific issue (in the sense that companies shouldn’t be able to suppress wages by simply keeping the borders open).
