Since Alexander the Great, no country can win a war in Afghanistan.
“Since Alexander the Great, no country can win a war in Afghanistan.”
In 2001 we won the war in a matter of days.
But then bad policy followed. There was no follow-up to de-Talban the entire country or to occupy as was done in Japan or Germany.
Wasted 14 years.
I think that had we not armed and trained the Mujahideen the Soviets could have won. The Soviets would have just killed half the population or more.
I guess that's assuming there are still Afghans left in the country and the half life of the area isn't two million years.
To really win the war, you’d probably have to kill more people than anyone is comfortable with doing. You’d have to kill enough to convince the enemy they have lost. It is a simple formula for victory that the West has largely forgotten. Or simply cannot stomach.
Only Genghis Khan (the greatest warlord in history) could win in Afghanistan.

Muslims won. They killed everyone, but they won.
