From the link....

.....The legislation is aimed at punishing Moscow for meddling in the 2016 presidential election and its military aggression in Ukraine and Syria, where the Kremlin has backed President Bashar Assad. ....

.....The 184-page bill seeks to hit Putin and the oligarchs close to him by targeting Russian corruption, human rights abusers, and crucial sectors of the Russian economy, including weapons sales and energy exports.
....

Ironic that our Congressional oligarchs are ‘hitting Putin’ for the exact same things they seem to be guilty of.

“Ironic that our Congressional oligarchs are ‘hitting Putin’ for the exact same things they seem to be guilty of.”

But that’s different.;-) The hypocrisy and double standards while an obvious characteristic of the left doesn’t stop with them.

Any country that exposes USA political corruption and gamesmanship deserves a big medal, not sanctions.

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Corruption, check. Sale of weapons, check. Human rights abuses? You mean yelling at Congressional interns for getting their lunch orders wrong? Or transferring ex-sex-toys to work at the Pentagon? I don’t think it equates to jailing dissenters. But anyway, close enough.
