Look at post 70. I agree with him. I think there would be a fight. Today many good ports, as well as Naval, Marine and Air Force facilities. Also, someone else pointed out, the federal government owns large swaths of land in California. We may not like it, that the Feds own much land, but at the moment, they do. Yes, I think there would be a fight. Also, California does not have a military force, as the Confederate states did. My humble opinion. 🙃😄

CA would be part of NATO and the USA could lease the bases or pull out. The USA’s choice.

If CA secedes then those that oppose that and want a military conflict to force CA back into the union are my sworn enemies. You want a huge war? Try to stop CA, the fighting won’t just be there....
