I worked as a contractor for DOE a while and they encrypted everything on the hard drive, however mundane. Surely state secrets would get at least that unless Hillary was in charge.
The best hard drive eraser is merely metal sand paper and sand off the mirror finish on the drive plates. Takes a few minutes but 100% effective.
