GOP House Member Calls On Mueller To Resign
thehill.com ^ | 08/01/17

House Judiciary Committee member Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) is calling on Robert Mueller, special counsel for the Department of Justice’s Russia investigation, to resign.

Franks claims Mueller is violating a law governing the special counsel that prohibits him from serving if he has a “conflict of interest,” which includes “a personal relationship with any person substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution.”

Franks cited a Fox News report from May that cast Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey as “longtime allies.” Mueller served as the FBI Director when Comey was the Deputy Attorney General in 2003. The Russia investigation has expanded to include possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia and the president’s decision to fire the FBI director.

“Bob Mueller is in clear violation of federal code and must resign to maintain the integrity of the investigation into alleged Russian ties,” Franks said in a statement.

“Those who worked under them have attested he and Jim Comey possess a close friendship, and they have delivered on-the-record statements effusing praise of one another.”

Fox News reported that Mueller was a confident to Comey when he talked President George W. Bush out of pushing ahead the renewal of a controversial surveillance program, and even offered to resign alongside side him if need be.

“No one knows Mr. Mueller’s true intentions, but neither can anyone dispute that he now clearly appears to be a partisan arbiter of justice, Franks said.

“Accordingly, the law is also explicitly clear: he must step down based on this conflict of interest.”

Thank you Mr. Franks. It seems day by day a few more Republicans are joining the fight to protect President Trump from all the BS.

Mueller resigning and being replaced by someone else doesn’t really help too much. The investigation itself is bogus.

What CRIME is Mueller supposed to be investigating, or is this a prolonged, government-funded, oppo-research, anti-Trumo, deep state gambit for the Democrats for 2020?

“or is this a prolonged, government-funded, oppo-research, anti-Trump, deep state gambit for the Democrats for 2020?”

That’s all this is.

And expect all their findings, that are supposed to be confidential, to be leaked by the democrat donors that Mueller brought in.

Both Mueller and the bogus investigation have to go.

Trump will engineer their demise... I have no doubt of this.

Trump has dealt with people that make Mueller look like a toddler.

Yeah, right. “Mr. Mueller, step away from the trough. Your feeding time has expired.” He’ll have to be dragged.

Trent Franks from Arizona—we actually have a few good congressmen!

But nothing outweighs the treachery of McCain and Flake, nothing. We in Arizona literally have the two worst and most hated members in the Senate.

Why is this one bit more apparent today than it was the day Mueller was appointed?

Mr. Franks represents my area and I can tell you he is a solid conservative and not one of those GOPe pukes we are so disgusted with.

He would make an excellent replacement for McCain but then even a mean-tempered rattlesnake would at this point.

Dems don’t have honor or decency at the federal level. All vestiges of humanity have been stripped away long ago. Mueller won’t recuse himself or resign even though he should. Comey’s testimony proved their closeness when Comey referred to Mueller as “Bob” instead Mr. Mueller or even Robert Mueller. Nope; they are very tight longtime friends. We can be sure Mueller will protect his very good friend Comey and not resign. I think Comey may have even said “my good friend Bob”.
