Oops, her Altima Hybrid is 10 years old, not 8, she bought a 2007 model in 2007.
My wife’s hybrid, a 2010 Honda Insight, now has 110k miles. We bought it barely used with 3k miles. When we first got it, it got 43mpg average with my wife driving lazily. Now she gets 37, which is around what a standard gas-only compact car will get you.
I’d be willing to bet your daughter’s car is not nearly as efficient as it was when she got it unless she’s extremely lucky.
