The whole point of the Constitution was to create a more perfect, “perpetual” union. Argue with Madison, not me.

Your fallacy here is in thinking that the edicts of men compel other men to obey. The Natural Law foundation of our own independence argues that God grants certain rights to men, and that other men are powerless to take them away.

Now you claim to be against slavery in general, so what is the difference between slavery and forced allegiance? Does not Washington DC eat out our substance and harass us with swarms of officials?

If one kind of slavery is bad, then so too is another.

"To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
-Thomas Jefferson-

Even the Slavers knew that, and that it would never get out constitutionally so they held an insurrection better named “the RAT Rebellion”.

Nobody knew that. Massachusetts threatened to secede numerous times. The Textbook that was taught at West Point when Robert E Lee attended was "A View of the Constitution" by William Rawle, and it explicitly says that States have a right to leave the Union.

>>Because you say so, right Mussolini?<<

Because it is reality.

There is no set of circumstances that end up with California leaving the Union.

None.

"I'm thinking there are a lot more costs to having California in the Union than just the tax receipts."

Yeah...good think'n.. If California had to pay for their own aids drugs and sex changes they would be broke within a week....

Of course they could make their own country, if the entire state wanted in. My point was that only a few concentrated areas would support Calexit. The rest would stay with or return to the US, leaving those areas isolated.

If a majority in CA votes for secession then THE ENTIRE STATE LEAVES.

They vote for it and they leave. If you lift a finger to stop them then you answer to me. Just like I would stop a rapist. It’s not going to be pretty.

It is not going to happen.

Not a single shot fired. Exactly WHAT do you think you will fight against? The USA will simply tell the world not to recognize California. The economy will collapse since imports and exports will be halted. California imports all its oil so there goes gasoline.

Groceries will disappear from shelves as national companies such as P&G, General Mills and others stop shipping and, more importantly, stop paying workers in Cal and shut the plants and factories down. You think California could nationalize industries under Gov. Moonbeam? He couldn’t nationalize his local dry cleaners. What is your backup plan? newsome? pelosi? Who leads your Grand Cause?

The bases will stay USA bases and will go into lockdown. Californians will be allowed to stay on base or leave, but not both. California’s “military” will consist of the Highway Patrol.

California can’t win that economic war. If it even tried it would fold in a week.

You think you will be Mr. Johnny Civil War? HAH! The USA just says “ignore the tantrum from our coast” and that is it.
Your crouching in your porch, armed to the teeth will make a great snapchat or instragram or whatever photo/video op. But meaningless.

Describe that in detail.

Massachusetts was being crippled by Jefferson’s embargo and it never ATTACKED the US.

Natural law can mean nothing to one who believes slavery is just. It is the worst manifestation of disobedience to Natural Law.

It does not matter what a lawyer says just what the constitution says. And what the meaning of a “constitution” is.

Since you want to argue about something that likely won’t even happen, what’s to stop the red areas from seceding from the new country and going back to Uncle Sam?
