LOL! You’ve proven my point: it’s very hard to find an all black dog or cat. Most have at least a few white hairs. The first dog I adopted after I became an independent adult was half black Lab and half Irish Setter. He came the closest to all black, with only about a dozen white chest hairs. Thereafter, they’ve all been mostly black, with the only pure bred “black” Lab having a white spot on his chest the size of a man’s hand. Right now my closest to all black is a black and white mantled Great Dane with long, soft, floppy, black uncropped ears. With his huge white feet, white chest, and white snoot he looks like a 122 lb. Beagle. He’s also a totally corrupt couch potato, having taken complete control of the only couch in the house.
All house animals take over the furniture. It’s in their DNA or something! Lol
So true. My other dog, a 90 lb. AST/retriever cross, has taken over at least half of my bed. We negotiate the split every night. He’s also black and white. He was supposed to be half Great Dane and half black Lab.

My kitteh is maybe 15 lb. we negotiate the split in my bed, too. Don’t know how she does it but she ends up with the biggest spot! Lol!
I love her dearly but wish I could reclaim just a little more of the bed!
