LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) The family of a Largo baby who died inside a hot mobile home Friday had three previous contacts with child protective services under the Pinellas County Sheriffs Office, News Channel 8 has learned.
Largo police arrested William Francis Hendrickson, age 25, on Thursday evening after they say his eight-month old son was found unresponsive in a mobile home where the temperature was 109 degrees.
Investigators say officers responded to the home at 12:30 p.m. to assist Pinellas County Child Protection Investigators with a welfare check of two children at the Kings Manor Mobile Home Park, located at 1399 S. Belcher Rd.
Hendrickson, his girlfriend and his parents all live in the home.
Upon arrival, officers found the eight-month-old boy in his play pin, unresponsive due to extreme heat in the trailer and the A/C not working in the bedroom.
It was a very [small] space, the windows were closed to this room. The temperature was very high. Detectives got a thermometer and measured the temperature in the room and it was 109 degrees, said Lt. Randall Chaney, with Largo Police Department.
After calling for Largo Fire Rescue paramedics, Officer Albin Soto immediately began infant CPR on the child.
Officer Soto was later relieved by paramedics, who continued resuscitation efforts. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.(snip)
Neighbors were shocked.
Theyre good, theyre good people, said Mike Bobbitt.
Another neighbor, Diane Armstrong said, Thats just so sad. Very sad.
A grandparent wouldnt grant an interview but briefly told News Channel 8 that authorities are to blame.

*spit*
Who the heck thinks up these names: "Kings Manor Mobile Home Park"?
Suggestions:
Attorneys involved————these people are pure, unadulterated trash.
(Mom is already in jail for something else.)
.
I thought that so many different times when I would drive by and see the signs.
You made it hysterical though.
But of course!
One almost gets the idea that he wanted the children to die ... or his new girlfriend did.
We're both going to hell now.
That, or old English words in the name such as “Pointe”,”Olde”,”Towne” etc. Or naming these dumps after fancy sounding British towns, Oxford, Cambridge, Cheltenham, etc It’s an old tactic developers use to justify the outrageous prices of the usually poorly built TOWNE houses and mcmansions they put up. That extra “E” at the end adds 10’s of thousands of $$$ to the home’s prices.
“Theyre good, theyre good people, said Mike Bobbitt.”
Aside from sticking an infant in an Easy Bake Oven mobile home, they are really great people.
While stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base in the early Seventies, I rented a mobile home at a place near the base called the Baghdad Court, next to a bowling alley called the Baghdad Bowl. I heard that when the first Gulf War came along, they changed the name.
“good people” don’t leave an infant to die.
I live a few towns over and every mobile home park (there are many) is called “Soemthing Estates” or “Something Manor” or “Somemthing Shores.”
This story really gets me angry. Here you have grandparents, their son and a 2 year old and an infant. In a small trailer. The grandparents hear the 2 year old crying for milk or water and they are able to get her drinks but then the son locks himself and the infant and the xBox video game system he played 24/7 in his room. Why didn’t the grandparents break down the door? Or break the window to the outside so fresh air could get in there? What kind of a person allows this to happen?
We don’t call it Lar-ghetto for nothing.
Honestly, if I had known about this situation, or a similar one in my town, I would have bought them an air conditioner. I already bought one AC this summer for an elderly widow lady who was burning up in her garret apartment. I'm not rich either.
But the problem with the death of the child is way deeper than a faulty AC. More charity would only amount to a temporary band-aid. I've been at loss for years on how to help dysfunctional people. Prayer is about all I can truly offer. Where are you Jesus? Please help this world.
Really the Philippines' Duterte is solving the problem in his country. There is a lot to be said for the summary execution of all the pimps, drug dealers, and gangstas who destroy so many lives.
But lets also include all the HBO, Showtime, cable executives, record producers, rappers, who feed simple minded people a poisonous diet of false, empty glamour. The purveyors of cultural smut should be the first lined up against the wall.
