Lived in Little rock in the early 70’s. The rough part of town back then was east of the downtown freeway. no red markers there on that current map.

I went to boarding school in Little Rock at roughly the same time. Our school was up on Kavanaugh, and we used to take the bus downtown to shop on Saturdays.

We were a group of high school aged girls, both black and white, and we always got off in front of McClellan’s dime store. We took cabs to and from the airport whenever we wanted to come home. I was 13 years old at the time!

Now, I’ll barely drive through LR to get to Fresh Market.
