I counted 1750 in the first formation. There is a possible 7,000 soldiers in those formations. This show of force cost lots of money; money flowing into the Chinese military from their trade advantage.

By the 1970's, the US had the ability to shoot down Soviet ICBM's. This technology gave us enhanced radiation weapons. Treaties with the Soviets, and the US democrats limited and blocked development and deployment of these weapons.
