Interesting theory there, pepsionice. As always, you bring an informed and detailed view to the situation in Europe. Thanks.

In the US, mafia types bent on revenge do not go on wild suicide missions. A drive-by shooting, yes. A bomb through the window, maybe. But a suicide mission, no, never.

Would an Iraqi mafia-type guy behave all that differently?

Well...typically, any mafia guy (Russian, Albanian, Serbian, etc) would typically want to send a message if his people weren’t getting access into a club. This would be done in a non-dramatic fashion (like burning the club down after they closed one night).

However, if you had a local kingpin who was a user of the ‘material’ (say meth, ectasy, or this new drug out of the Middle East...Captagon)...then he’d go and do some really stupid reaction and shoot up the place. Based on the violence displayed....he’s not a marijuana dealer (nor would disco idiots buy the stuff as part of their night out). I’m leaning toward meth or Captagon.

I will say this...a Russian kingpin would be highly disciplined. If there is retribution...it’ll be planned and link no one. With this Iraqi guy? He was doped on something and never had a care about thinking or planning. This is the kind of act you’d expect of a guy on the drug Captagon or meth.
