Wasserman Schultz Avoiding Reporters Since Awan Arrest

WASHINGTON — Embattled Democratic Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has avoided facing any media since her law enforcement arrested her former IT staffer Imran Awan Tuesday on bank fraud charges.

Wasserman Schultz, who walked down the House Capitol steps late Wednesday afternoon following remarks she made on the floor, caught site of The Daily Caller’s reporter and nervously turned around and ran back up the steps with her staffer in tow.

The Miami Herald reported Thursday night that her spokesman told a reporter Wednesday, as she walked to the floor of the House, that she would not answer questions about Awan.

The Florida Democrat has strictly communicated through office spokesman statements on the matter and even those responses appear to be contradictory.

When the story of Awan’s arrest first broke, Wasserman spokesman David Damron released a statement telling media:

“Mr. Awan previously served as a part-time employee but his services have been terminated,” He added, “No charges, evidence or findings from the investigation have been formally shared with our office, so we cannot comment on them.”

Cong Wasserman Schultz's spox said that "Debbie's team had been given no evidence to suggest Awan had broken a law"......"she was under the impression he had been the victim of religious profiling."

Dementocrat Debbie does not fire Imran when everyone found out he falsified official documents and was billing salaries for people who did not work there.

She does not fire him after his criminal record became public.

Dementocrat Debbie does not fire him after security data breaches.

She does not fire him after he stole, illegally stored, and illegally destroyed US govt property, in violation of data and equipment laws.

She fires him AFTER he is pubicly arrested trying to flee the country having fleeced the Congressional Credit Union of thousands of tax dollars.

FYI-Official documents, court records and multiple interviews suggest the Awan crew may have engaged in government fraud, tax evasion, bank fraud, extortion, bankruptcy fraud and insurance fraud. More alarmingly, money (our tax dollars?) could have been funneled overseas. Abid Awan has hired high-profile attorney James Bacon who specializes in anti-money laundering litigation.

Most taxpayers work for a living and do not have much free time for other things. But Imran was a US govt employee working for Congress, hired by Cong Debbie Schultz.

Imran had plenty of time and money to pursue his private money-making interests:

Imran's thirst for money was unquenchable. He falsified apps to get several home loans from the Congressional Credit Union. He got the credit union to wire-transfer monies abroad.
