When I received my orders in '69 to report to Ft Knox for BCT my friends and family advised me,perhaps only half jokingly, not to drop the soap in the shower. But during my 6 year enlistment I never saw...or heard of...anything like that.
Having perverts and other deeply disturbed individuals in the Armed Forces is a huge threat to "good order and discipline".In peacetime that represents a huge issue. In wartime it represents a genuine threat to national security.

'67 in the 101st at Ft Campbell a homo was caught feeling up guys in their bunks asleep. He received a practice jump from the 2nd story window, accomplished extremely poor PLF and broke his ankle. Needless to say he was out of there. Now that was unit cohesion. Just no room for freaks, in the field they'll rightfully get fragged.
