Sen. Pauls bill failed 45-55, seven moderate Republican senators voted against the clean repeal bill. The Senate continues to try to coalesce around an Obamacare repeal compromise bill.
Paul called the bill the Obamacare Repeal Reconciliation Act of 2017.
Sen. Paul consistently opposed the leaderships healthcare bill, the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA); the BCRA failed to pass through a procedural vote Tuesday night in the Senate. Paul offered his clean Obamacare repeal bill that would repeal large sections of Obamacare.

Why doesn’t John McCain just retire already?
Actually calling them RINOS is an insult to RINOS..that’s implying they were ever Republican to begin with..these people were NEVER Republican..just had a nice little R next to their name to get elected in their district..they go to DC, take off their coat and become the Commies they always were
Sad but TRUE!!
"Let me be very clear, large parts of Obamacare remain after this repeal bill today. What this bill does, though, is force both sides to come together to find a bipartisan solution during the two-year transition."
Even at that, Sens. Dean Heller (R-NV), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Susan Collins (R-ME), John McCain (R-AZ), Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Rob Portman (R-OH) voted against it. All of these senators except for Sen. Collins voted to rescind Obamacare in 2015.
Losers, all; but their constituents will just keep re-electing them. Well, except for McCain whose card has been punched for him.
Portman's GAY son has WARPED his thinking on EVERYTHING!!!
Have You read the bill?
We need new Republicans.
Alexander, Corker, Flake, Gardner, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, McCain, Rubio, Burr, Tillis, Portman, McConnell, Thune, Cornyn, Cochran, Isackson, Blunt, Johnson, Toomey, Capito, Rounds, Fischer, Collins, Wicker, Sasse, Ernst and Shelby are all Democrats in R jerseys.
Arizonans in the know are aware that McCain was trying to keep his seat warm for his daughter, a blonde ditz who like her father is of no known political persuasion.
I beg to differ. Outside of Reagan, the GOP has never been Conservative, just slightly less Statist than the Democrats. The traditional Country Club Republicans hated Reagan.
Nothing good to say about this.
The correct term is "Filthy, Damnable TRAITORS".
Yes, Shelley Moore Capito, I'm talking about YOU.
Good Evening, Mr. Trump. Your mission, should you choose to accept it (and you bloody well better) ...
They had no problem sending the bill to Obama a number of times knowing that he would not sign it.
I have not. I’m taking Sen Paul at his word that large parts of Obamacare would have remained if his clean repeal bill was passed. Do you happen to know what those large parts might be? I guess it’s a moot point now in any case.
Nothing that doesn’t require coverage of pre-existing conditions is going to go anywhere.
Matter of life and death for middle aged folks who played by the rules all their working lives and find themselves laid off and unable to get coverage- not negotiable and whatever damage has to get inflicted on the budget, constitution or pocketbooks of any fellow citizens simply comes in second to survival, ideology, patriotism or any other factor be damned.
I am fortunate, got another job with coverage after being laid off at 50 a year after being diagnosed with something that got me rejected when I tried to purchase coverage on my own (after nearly 30 years with the company).
I can see that argument that people will simply not have coverage until needed, but quite frankly, that is not the issue amongst most of my friends in my situation; we’ve always had coverage, got laid off, now can’t get it; which is, basically, death. I’m OK myself but I’m sure there are a millions of people in my situation for whom *ANYTHING* and ANY ADMINISTRATION beats dying of cancer or diabetes.
I’ll bet l can name the 7 without looking. Was Flake one of em?If he wasn’t he would have been if needed. He may have hid among yes votes since he’s got a primary coming up.
In my 60 years of life the state of Tennessee has yet to produce even one good U.S. Senator. Before anyone says his name no Howard Baker was not that good either. Corker and Alexander have for years made sure critical Conservative votes have been lost. Corker voted No the other night this was Alexanders turn.
And based on their respective states, all would probably be re-elected without much effort.
At first, yes. After time, most warmed up to him.
