I don't remember any of the Afrikaaner and Anglo farmers fleeing slaughter in Mugabe's Zimbabwe getting special "refugee" status either.

The political establishment seems to have decided that the only way you can be given refugee or any other protected immigrant status is if you and your people are going to be a net deficit to society with zero potential for assimilation.
